REGIONAL TOURISM PROJECT
The STAR Project was a region-wide initiative to generate visitor interest in rural areas. It was funded in part by a South Dakota Transportation Enhancement Grant. The program resulted in the creation of several county and regional tour routes, based upon specific themes. Although the STAR committee has been inactive for several years, the attractions noted in regional marketing materials are still significant assets.
