MARKETING ASSISTANCE

Marketing is becoming increasingly important to small and large communities alike. Local officials are taking strategic steps to promote their community as being an active, 'family friendly' environment that offers good quality of life, in order to retain its current residents and attract new families.

There are two target audiences: Internal and External. As a community, you must answer the question: 'What assets give our community an advantage?' Location, infrastructure, schools, quality of life, workforce? Once these assets have been identified, District III offers an affordable marketing option to its members.

District III offers support to its members who would like to design or revise marketing products.  Three package options are listed below, but we would be happy to discuss any project you may be considering. 

1 - BASIC COMMUNITY PROFILE (8½” x 11”, 2-sided)

  • Basic Community Profile 8½” x 11”, 2-sided
  • Design Meeting(s) - By phone/email
  • Travel & Meals - None
  • Initial printing - full color
  • 100 copies
    TOTAL COST - $250
Later additional copies requested (minimum of 10) - $0.75 each

2 - DELUXE COMMUNITY BROCHURE
(8½” x 14”, 4-panel) Cover Pictured Right
  • Deluxe Community Brochure 8½” x 14”, 4-panel
  • Design Meeting(s) - 1 (approx. 2 hours)
  • Travel & Meals - One trip estimated
  • Initial printing - full color
  • 100 copies
    TOTAL COST - $500
Later additional copies requested (minimum of 10) - $1.00 each

3- COMPREHESIVE MARKETING PACKAGE

The following information is provided in a full-color, 8½” x 11” brochure (complete with photographs), divided into eight sections, which is inserted into a 2-pocket folder. Any of the following sections can be altered or deleted to suit your project.
  • Quality of Life - contains information about education, health services, churches, communications media, library, emergency services, child care facilities, climate, and area universities, colleges, and vocational schools
  • Community Profile - contains community history information and an overview of the community’s annual events, social/civic clubs, and unique visitor sites
  • Recreation - contains detailed information about specific recreational activities or facilities
  • Local Businesses - lists all the businesses in the community by type
  • Business Incentives - contains information designed to attract start-up and/or relocating businesses to the community; including property tax, unemployment insurance, workers compensation, sales tax, local incentives, and government information
  • Industrial Sites - lists information about available sites in and around the community, transportation, and tax incentives
  • Utilities and Communication - provides information about water, electricity, sewer, landfill availability, telephone, and internet providers
  • Labor and Training - provides information about the type of skills and size of the local labor force
