Personnel manuals help city councils and county commissions manage the daily activities of local government employees. A manual contains general policies concerning employee behavior, benefits, and procedures. Personnel manuals may include job descriptions and various forms (example - timesheets) which are used to document employee information. Manuals often take several months to prepare and they should be updated regularly to accommodate changes in laws and management practices. For more information, contact Greg at District III.
MUNICIPAL ORDINANCES
Municipal Ordinances are the local laws which help protect public health, safety, and welfare. It is a challenge for many communities to keep their ordinances organized and current. Ordinance revisions usually involve two steps. First, the existing ordinances are collected and presented in an organized manner. Once the ordinances are 'cleaned up' and presented in a systematic manner, an attorney reviews the language. After legal editing is completed, the ordinances are published in one document for use by local officials. For more information, contact Brian at District III.
