NUISANCE ORDINANCES

Nuisance ordinances address the condition or maintenance of property within a community. These regulations are designed to further community standards for the protection of health, safety, welfare, and aesthetics. Common nuisance-based ordinances include lawn care, exterior building maintenance, outdoor storage, and pets. These types of ordinances are not regulated by state statute, in as much as zoning and subdivision, thereby providing greater flexibility to the individual communities.
